Vardon Grip

The most commonly taught grip today the grip encourages the little finger to overlap the space between the index and middle fingers of the opposite hand. Originally developed by Harry Vardon who is also responsible for developing several different types of shot:

  • A one-armed strangle hold for retrieving the ball from a rabbit
  • A two handed strangle hold for persuading opponents your score is accurate
